Linoleum Cut Prints
Artist Elizabeth Kurtak, is saving Colorado landmarks, especially the iconic motels and eating establishments along Colfax Avenue, the longest avenue in the United States running east to west through Denver.
Alas, Jack Karouac and Neal Cassady never got to experience Casa Bonita's questionable Mexican food or watch the young cliff divers swooping down 80 feet beside your table. Yet since the 1970's the pink tower of Casa Bonita still stands as one of America's favorite tourist attractions.
Kurtak has joined the campaign to save the Neon Lights of Colfax Avenue. Her works include The Big Bunny Motel, The Whiteswan, Trailsend Motel and The Aristocrat motel.
